The Gamma Mu chapter of Alpha Delta Pi takes pride in our community service and philanthropy endeavors. In 1979, the Ronald McDonald House became the national philanthropy of Alpha Delta Pi. Our Chapter is fortunate to have a Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, Missouri. The proximity of RMHC allows us to volunteer often and enjoy the families the organization serves.
Chapter members at the 2010 Teeter Totter-A-Thon
ADPi's throughout the country participate in an annual Lion's Share Challenge to raise money for RMHC. "In Like a Lion" 5K run/walk is a community event that we host as a part of the challenge each fall. Our other major philanthropy endeavor is called Teeter-Totter-A-Thon. This event is held at local McDonald’s. We teeter-totter all day and ask for donations from the community. A grand total of $7,583.68 was donated last year from Gamma Mu to RMHC. We were the leading philanthropic donators among the Greek community of MSU last year!
Chapter members at the 2010 Greek Tug
Alpha Delta Pi supports the philanthropic efforts of all Greeks as well as the community of Springfield. We are always excited to participate in philanthropies of other fraternities and sororities on campus. We also participate in a variety of campus events including "Up 'Til Dawn" an event that benefits our Greek wide philanthropy, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and "Relay for Life" that benefits the American Cancer Society. We believe it is important to help our community as often as possible.
The last two years we have participated in a campus wide blood drive. Alpha Delta Pi has had the largest number of participants at both blood drives. Last semester Gamma Mu had 1,153 hours of service donated to the community.
Together we all can make a difference, and the Gamma Mu Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi strives to reach out and help others.
